Nenagh AFC 'B' 3 - Rearcross U-14's 2

Rearcross travelled to Nenagh in the hope of building on their second half performance in Moneygall 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately Rearcross did not get of to the best of starts as Nenagh within the first 10 minutes took an early lead with a looping shot from outside the box leaving Pa Caroll with no chance of saving it. Nenagh had the best of the chances in the first half and could have been futher in front if it were not for some great Rearcross defending highlighted by Sam Wilkins who got back to clear a definite goal off the line. Rearcross looked dangerous on the break and with little time remaining in the half drew level when Brandon Shannon passed the ball of for Lorcan Cadbury who took the ball on and buried it in the bottom corner of the Nenagh net. Rearcross flew out of the traps in the second half a took a deserved lead after 6 minutes of play thanks too the Caapamore pair of Lorcan and Brandon as they combined well again ending in a great finish from Brandon. Rearcross had a handful of chance after this unfortunately none of them ended with a goal. Rearcross came under serious pressure from Nenagh as they made substitutions to change the game. Fine performances from the Rea defence kept Nenagh out until the 40th minute when Nenagh drew level. Nenagh were in the driving seat and pressed for the winner .With only 8 minutes remaining Nenagh broke the rearcross hearts as a fine shot found its way to the back of the  Rearcross net. Nenagh held out for what was a hard fought victory. Rearcross were unlucky not to get anything from the game but can keep their heads up as they performed greatly on the day including fantastic performances from Conor Nolan and James Rochford
